Blondie offers free stream of new studio album ‘Pollinator’
Blondie fans pumped about their upcoming U.S. summer co-headline tour with Garbage and new studio album Pollinator have an opportunity to whet their appetites with a free audio stream of all the tracks. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers released their 11th studio effort on May 5 via BMG.
Spin reports on May 5 that the multi-platinum sellers are offering fans a chance to stream the standard edition of the album in its entirety ahead of its release tonight, including the album’s two singles “Fun” and “Long Time.” Check out all 11 tracks at Spotify or click here to listen free now.
Produced by Grammy winner John Congleton (Brian Wilson, David Byrne), Pollinator is a follow up to 2014’s Ghosts of Download. The album has a sound reminiscent of their late 70’s work and features a number of songs from outside writers like Sia and Charlie XCX. Blondie co-founders Deborah Harry and Chris Stein contribute only two songs this time around, including the opening track “Doom or Destiny,” which features a guest appearance by fellow Hall of Famer Joan Jett.
The lead single "Fun" was released on Feb. 1 and was followed by “Long Time,” which dropped March 24. Fans can check out the video for “Long Time” above.
Pollinator is available now in both an 11-track standard edition and 13-track deluxe edition in CD, digital and vinyl formats. A variety of bundles are available and fans can click here for more details.
The pioneering punk-rockers will promote the album with their upcoming Rage and Rapture Tour with co-headliners Garbage. The 20-city tour of North America will launch July 5 in Saratoga, California, at The Mountain Winery and wrap up Aug. 12 in Dallas at Southside Ballroom. Tickets for a variety of Blondie dates are available at AXS.
Prior to the North American tour Blondie has a few European stops, which includes a pair of shows with Phil Collins on June 25 in Dublin at Aviva Stadium, as well as June 30 in London at Hyde Park. Blondie also has a solo headline date on June 28 in Paris at The Olympia. For all the latest details on Blondie, click here.
